Writer's picture: webstreetsnowwebstreetsnow

The Caruthers family businesses continued into the 1970's with a lease agreement with Mobil Oil Company for a service station at 1942 Broadway, Gary Indiana. The service station was ran by brothers Rufus Caruthers Jr, Booker Caruthers, and Leonard Caruthers. They sold Mobil gasoline, and Mobil oil and lubricants. Booker Caruthers run the auto repair side of the business, with one tow truck to provide winching, accident recoveries, tire changes, jump starts, and tow cars in for repairs.
