The Caruthers family businesses continued in 1984 when Mr. & Mrs. James Caruthers started Prompt Medical Transfer Inc. a private service that provided emergency and non-emergency medical transport services for patients in Northwest Indiana from 1984 til 1998. Transports of patients to hospitals, medical centers, and health care facilities including transfers between medical facilities.
